Nokia India sold 400,000 Phones on a Single Day - World Record

Nokia India sold close to half a million phones(400,000) on 19-OCT-2006. This is the highest number of phones to be sold by any company in the world on any given day creating a new world record. Internal release by Nokia India says,
"It is even more than what Nokia has ever sold on any Chinese new year".
Nokia dealers attributed this to the Diwali shopping mania. Nokia India currently has 38 models available on the retail shelf, of which around 13-25 can be categorised into the low-end segment.
