I'm actually pretty happy with these, I was irritated with having to scroll down to the bottom to reply, and the phishing report link is nice too.
a drop down menu isn't really web 2.0
egon, and even easier method of replying is using the Shortcut "r" to reply. G-Mails biggest strengths is it shortcuts.

Gmail is the fastest web-mail client I've ever used
and I've been through a few of them
well, now that i think about it... my schools web-mail was faster... but they don't have the same kind of load as Google

I think he meant slow as in slow to roll out new features, with which I agree.
I think the recent announcement that they want to focus on more on integration and less on new products will mean more new feature sooner. Well, hopefully.
Maybe there slow... cause when they always release something it works first time!! apart from a few minor exceptions Google has never released bad software. I can think of a lot of other companies that tend to put a lot more emphasis on the bottom line than producing quality output.
