New GSM — Global System for Mobiles — connections in India in the past two months have been the highest in the world, according to Director-General of Cellular Operators Association of India T.V. Ramachandran. Although China has recorded new connections of 60 to 70 lakh in a month earlier, the new connections in India during September and October this year have been the highest in the world for these months, added Mr. Ramachandran.
